The Right Honourable Anna Soubry, Minister for Small Business, Industry and Enterprise was a recent guest at a breakfast briefing on Friday 27 May at Foot Anstey's Exeter office in Southernhay.

Industry is vital for the economy, said Anna, as she gave business leaders and owners from across the city the opportunity to ask questions about government policy in relation to business and enterprise. A lively debate followed with questions from the floor ranging from LEPs, the Living Wage, taxes and education funding. The packed event saw delegates attend from across the region to network, listen and learn about ideas that will have an impact on the future of Exeter.

Foot Anstey's Chairman, Simon Gregory commented: “Anna's time with us was invaluable, giving everyone an opportunity to listen and learn of strategies that will impact our city, economy and businesses in the region. A straightforward and engaging speaker, it was an excellent opportunity to hear Government plans first-hand. We thank Anna for her time.”

Minister for Small Business, Anna Soubry, said: “Small businesses are the beating heart of our economy, creating jobs and encouraging innovation right across the country. That is why the Government is investing almost £200m into growth deals here in the South West. One of the best bits of my job is getting out and meeting business owners and community leaders who have great innovative ideas. Today I’ve seen first-hand the drive and passion from entrepreneurs in this part of the country.”
