Exeter Chamber of Commerce and industry is launching a new J29 Business Forum to support businesses operating from Sowton, Exeter Business Park, Apple Lane and the surrounding areas to network and learn more about what the forum hopes to achieve. The Junction 29 Business Forum will first meet at 7.30am on Thursday 14th July at Fresha on Bittern Road. Breakfast and refreshments will be served until 8am with talks from board member of the Chamber Council and the owner of Sowton based Fresha Catering Company Paul Banks, David Savill, Exeter Chamber Chairman and Derek Phillips, Exeter Chamber Vice President.
Events for the group will become part of Exeter Chamber’s event programme, and it is hoped will become a regular feature within the Exeter business calendar. The Junction 29 Business Forum events will be open to both members and non-members of Exeter Chamber, but it is hoped however that attendees will join the Chamber.
Exeter Chamber of Commerce supports the interests of businesses within Exeter and the surrounding region and an integral part of this support is lobbying. The Junction 29 Business Forum will help lead the way on relevant discussions between Devon County Council, Exeter City Council and East Devon District Council as well as the Exeter Growth Board, supported by the views and feedback of local businesses. Quarterly meetings are due to be held at Fresha, giving local businesses the perfect opportunity to raise issues, develop awareness and discuss problems.
Exeter Chamber of Commerce runs over 50 events a year, including monthly networking events. This helps to give businesses the means to communicate regularly with over 500 members along with meeting other local businesses, sharing business knowledge and interests and gaining strength in current business relationships as well as establishing new ones. The Chamber already runs a range of special interest groups in the city, including the Exeter Initiative for Science and Technology, the Marsh Barton Forum, the Exeter Chamber Property Initiative Committee and the newly launched Exeter Airport Business Park Group.
