Yesterday (Tuesday 5th July)  East Devon’s Development Management Committee unanimously approved the application from Lidl to build a 50,000 sq m logistics base in the District. The site is located on the old A30 near Skypark and was originally planed as a logistics centre for Sainsbury’s then put on the market following review of their priorities.

Lidl have bought the site and now plan to begin construction next month aiming to have this regional distribution hub operational in Autumn 2017.  This is a major development for East Devon, the Greater Exeter area and the South West region.  500 jobs will be created and the facility will underpin Lidl’s regional growth plans.
