South West independent electrical wholesaler Devondale Electrical has been shortlisted in this year’s Electrical Awards.

The company, which has its headquarters in Exeter, is a finalist in the hotly contested ‘Wholesaler of the Year’ category.

Managing Director, Paul Wood said: “The whole team was delighted to receive the news that we had been shortlisted.

“Devondale was a finalist in this category in 2012, and this time we have all our fingers and toes crossed that the company will walk away with the award.”

Set up in Exeter in 1981, Devondale now has eight branches across the region with a ninth about to open in Bideford, North Devon. The company has had a really strong year; a steady programme of rebranding throughout, and the refurbishment of older branches means Devondale now offers a better customer experience.

Devondale has achieved a sleek, modern approach, from updated trade counters through to brand new delivery vans. This is paying dividends with many new accounts added since the beginning of 2016.

Rodney Jack, editor of Electrical Times and chair of the judges, said, “As ever, the standard of entries this year was exceptional and selecting these finalists was an extremely tough task.

“Having gone through the entries, it is clear that the electrical trade has a very high calibre of businesses.”

Devondale will discover if it has been successful at a sparkling Gala Dinner on October 27 at The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London.
