Devon accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards has appointed Julie Rose as branch manager to be based primarily at its Heathfield office, near Newton Abbot.

Chartered tax advisor Julie joins the firm from Farm Accounts where she spent 11 years and managed over 100 clients. In total she has over 17 years’ experience providing practical advice and business support to farms and other rural businesses, including management of accounts, ensuring compliance requirements are met for tax credits, self-assessment, PAYE and VAT. She has also carried out extensive tax planning work for income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax.

“We were delighted to secure Julie’s services for our Heathfield office,” said Mary Jane Campbell. “Her knowledge and experience will be particularly valuable to our varied rural client base and she’s a welcome addition to our busy agriculture and rural business team.”

“I’m so pleased to be remaining within the regional rural business community,” added Julie. “Agriculture is not always an easy sector to operate in and the challenge of helping rural businesses to thrive is one that’s motivated and rewarded me throughout my career. I’m looking forward to continuing this challenge within the agriculture team at Simpkins Edwards.”

Simpkins Edwards’ Heathfield office opened in 2014 following the acquisition of former accountancy firm Adams & Co. The firm also has offices in Exeter, Okehampton, Barnstaple, Holsworthy and Honiton.
