On Tuesday 28th March, The Royal Mint will be releasing 1.5 billion new £1 coins into circulation. It is the first time in over 30 years that it has been replaced.
The 12-sided coin will be introduced with several new features that make it more difficult to counterfeit. It is reported that approximately 1 in every 30 currently in circulation is fake. With the introduction of a 12-sided coin, a new version of the trolley coin will now be available from
