INNOVATE UK FUNDING COMPETITION:

Innovate UK Competition Emerging and Enabling Technologies Round 3 Briefing. As part of the Innovate UK Delivery Plan, Innovate UK is to invest up to £15m in innovative projects in Emerging and Enabling Technologies and up to £10m for KTP.

The link below details what technologies within “Emerging and Enabling Technologies includes.

By applying these Technologies across all sectors, the aim is to increase competitiveness for UK small and medium sized enterprises. This event will benefit businesses of all sizes as well as academics, researchers and local authorities. 

There will be a regional briefing event on 21st Sept in Exeter.

GRANT ALERT: 
THE INVENTOR PRIZE (ENTRIES OPEN)

The Inventor Prize has been launched as part of the Government’s Industrial Strategy.  Applications are open for the £50,000 prize which is looking for the UK’s best inventions that help make people’s lives better.  The Inventor Prize welcomes applications from innovative and exciting new products that haven’t been on sale before. The prize is being administered through Nesta, an innovation foundation and registered charity.

COULD BUSINESS MENTORING HELP YOU?

Using a business mentor can be a great way to access friendly, unbiased support, guidance and gain an outside perspective on your business.  

Mentors act as a ‘sounding board’ for a business and, through transfer of their knowledge, skills and experience can help a business to reach its full potential. 

Free of charge mentoring schemes are currently available in Devon and Somerset.

GRANT ALERT: 
SUPPORT FOR RURAL ENTERPRISES

The latest round of Rural Development Programme funding was announced by Lord Gardener on 29th July 2017.

There are a number of strands of grant funding currently available to rural businesses in England through the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE). These include the Growth Programme, Countryside Productivity Scheme and LEADER.
