Exeter based design agency, Drive Creative Studio, has been shortlisted for a prestigious Cream Award in recognition of its digital creativity and flair for animation.
Organised by The Drum (Europe’s biggest marketing website), the Cream Awards recognise and reward creativity in advertising, design and digital outside of the cities of London and Manchester. Each year sees some of the best UK agencies, in-house teams and brands compete for the highly acclaimed awards.
Drive Creative Studio has been shortlisted in the Digital – Moving Image (Including Animation) category, for its emotive ocean manifesto animation, ‘Together We Can Turn Tides’. The animation was produced to represent themes within a book of the same name that was published as a manifesto for change – to save the planet’s oceans.
Jeroen Van de Waal, author of Together We Can Turn Tides, commissioned Drive Creative Studio to create a series of simple graphic illustrations alongside an animated video in order to generate awareness about the state of humankind’s treatment of earth. The emotive animation was used to explain some of the manifesto’s powerful core themes such as ocean pollution, marine habitat destruction and mammal eradication, as well as positive steps for the future.

The project has been shared by the Marine Conservation Society and Greenpeace.
