FLYBE DISAPPOINTMENT THAT ‘DAMAGING’ AIR PASSENGER DUTY NOT LOWERED IN BUDGET

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, is disappointed that the Chancellor has once again missed the opportunity to lower Air Passenger Duty. The UK's APD is among the highest in the world and it is a highly damaging tax which penalises domestic travellers. Reducing APD and supporting domestic aviation would have been in line with the Government's stated aim of spreading economic growth more evenly across the UK – this is sadly another missed opportunity to act.
