FOUNDER of Exeter PA Network, Kim Glover, has appeared at a prestigious international summit in Munich, where she spoke about the strategic role of personal assistants.
Kim was a speaker at the Benelux and DACH Executive Summit which took place over two days in Munich this month. The event, which is organised by the Vonlanthan Group, was attended by senior assistants from more than 20 different countries, representing most of Europe, Russia, Saudi Arabia, America and the UK.
The well-attended event was the fourth in its history, having taken place previously in Cannes, Paris, Lisbon, and Rome. Prominent business professionals offered their advice on subjects such as how to work harder and more efficiently, using body language to achieve positive results and how to become a leader.
Delegates heard from world-renowned speakers such as Lucy Brazier, CEO of Executive Secretary Magazine, and Bonnie Low-Kramen, former Assistant to Olympia Dukakis, now CEO of Be the Ultimate Assistant.
As leader of one of the UK's most successful PA Networks, Kim was invited to share her thoughts on why assistants should become more strategic. She talked about the impact of technology on assistant roles, the need for assistants to step up and operate more in the space of management and deliver greater value to the business.
Kim said: ‘I was thrilled to be invited to speak at the conference. It was a nerve-wracking experience, which definitely took me outside of my comfort zone, but so worth it. I was happy with the great reaction to my presentation and how I represented Michelmores, the Exeter PA Network and our region more generally. It was an absolute honour to speak alongside such well recognised professional speakers such as Lucy and Bonnie.’
Exeter PA Network, which was established by Kim in 2012, has more than 500 members. It offers support, networking and development opportunities for personal and executive
assistants, admin workers, secretaries and office staff across the city. Kim is executive assistant to Malcolm Dickinson, the Managing Partner of Michelmores LLP and a member of the Regional Advisory Board for EPAA, the PA profession’s national association.
