Have you got a winning entry for the Michelmores Property Awards 2018?
Send through your entry for the Michelmores Property Awards, which showcase and celebrate the very best of the South West's property and construction industry.
Now in their sixteenth year, the annual Awards are an opportunity to bring the industry's most talented property developers, building contractors, architects and other industry professionals together to recognise the outstanding property and construction projects in Bristol, Devon, Dorset, Cornwall and Somerset.
Previous winning projects have covered schools, sport centers, universities, offices, heritage attractions and new housing developments. Last year's award winners included The University of Exeter's Living Systems Institute, refurbishment of Bristol's Grade II* listed City Hall and Seaton Jurassic Visitor Centre.
This year's winners will be announced at an awards dinner, hosted by the comedian Josh Widdicombe, on Thursday 7 June 2018. Josh is known for his appearances on The Last Leg, Fighting Talk, Insert Name Here, Have I Got News for You and his BBC Three sitcom Josh. Last year's awards sold out with a record level of 460 attendees and this year's event promises to be just as popular with the property and construction industry.
This year Michelmores' has introduced a new category: Alternative Property Investment Project of the Year. The judges will be looking for innovative and exceptional alternative property investment projects such as student housing, retirement living accommodation, care home units or private rental schemes. We have seen an increase in the number of such property assets in recent years as investors look beyond traditional office, retail and industrial property for higher returns. Demand has also been driven by demographic changes including growing numbers of students and an ageing population.
A number of sponsors have already been confirmed including:
• Girling Jones – Building of the Year
• Midas – Alternative Property Investment Project of the Year
• Kier – Residential Project of the Year (36 units and over)
• NatWest – Residential Project of the Year (35 units and under)
• Samphire Club – Official After Party sponsors
Simon Girling, Director of Girling Jones explains the rationale for their continuing involvement with the awards:
“Girling Jones have sponsored Michelmores Property Awards for the last 5 years, allowing us to give back to an industry which gives us so much. If you’d like to pit yourself against the best of the best in the South West then why not put forward an entry this year. It’s always a fantastic evening, celebrating true excellence in the region.”
The deadline for entries is Friday 9 February 2018 and entry forms are available online by visiting www.michelmores.com/property-awards-2018.
