Family Fun Day at Exeter Racecourse on Sunday, April 8 is free for children aged 17 and under and one the track’s busiest and most action-packed days of the year and this year’s date coincides with a special visit by the character Peter Rabbit from the year’s most hotly anticipated film of the same name.

With a taste for adventure, and no doubt carrots too, Peter Rabbit will be heading to Exeter Racecourse from his home in the Lake District, and if you’re a fan you can follow his journey on Social Media in the days leading up to the race meeting.

As well as the chance to meet Peter Rabbit, there will also be Tractor Ted activities. The children’s farm hero captivates children with his real life films, books and toys full of fun, adventure and discovery, down on the farm. An Easter Egg hunt, face painters, balloon modelers and horse hoppers, all absolutely free for kids, will add to the day’s activities.

Take a peek behind the scenes with former jockey Ollie McPhail who will lead a tour of the racecourse when there will be a chance to get close to the steeple chase fences, learn about what happens in the weighing room and ask jockeys questions about the sport.

There will be jockeys' autograph sessions during the day, children’s running races down the home straight, the chance to go on an equiciser, which is an imitation racehorse, wear jockeys’ brightly coloured silks and meet Dexter, the racecourse’s mascot horse.

Two pre-booked Grandstand and Paddock tickets cost just £15, and children aged 17 and under race free. For further information visit www.exeter-racecourse.co.uk. Gates open at 12pm with the first race under starters’ orders at 2.20pm.
