Exeter based Atlantic rowing team: Row for the Ocean continue their efforts to become the fastest female crew in this years Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.  Since speaking at the Chambers lunch on 4th May they have been busy training on their 30ft ocean rowing boat, publicising the race, raising much needed funds to get to the start line as well as continuing their charity work for Surfers Against Sewage and Plastic Free Exeter.

The biggest highlight so far has been the Exeter Food Festival and Devon County Show.  'It was great to talk to such an interested audience' Ros said, 'we've had lots of support so far. Most people think we're crazy but it’ll be a great adventure!'.

They need £120,000 just to get to the start line.  They are well on their way after securing a key sponsorship deal with Exeter based business P1 Investment Management, as well as many other smaller firms located in Exeter.  Kate said 'It's been great how the Exeter community has been getting involved and supporting us, I'm just so chuffed and humbled by it all.  We're going to go out there, give it our all, put Exeter on the map, and make Exeter proud!’ But they are still not there yet. They are in the middle of their last big push for funding that will get them to the start line.

Good news, there is still time to get involved with their project.  They've launched a Crowdfunder. It went live on sunday 20th May and runs until 24th June.  There is a great short film about the team and the Atlantic Row. Follow the link and follow them on all social media outlets.  To get involved with the campaign and info on a partnership go to their website or call Kate on 07846 184244.
