With places filling fast, this years' Michelmores Charity Run, looks set to be a highlight in Exeter's calendar of events. Whether you are running, walking or coming along to cheer on the participants, there will be plenty to enjoy with a bar, food and great atmosphere.
The 5km run will take place on Thursday 6 September 2018, starting and finishing on the picturesque Cathedral Green in Exeter.
This year, the run is raising money for The Amber Foundation. The Foundation helps homeless, unemployed young people to regain control of their lives, find their feet and move on to positive, independent futures. They provide support, training, experience and opportunity that encourages young people to focus on their strengths and move forward towards work, secure housing and a more fulfilling future. We are looking forward to raising money for this fantastic charity.
Last year's run saw a record number of entrants with over 1,100 people participating in the event and a record-breaking fundraising total of £33,400.
We are welcoming entries from individual and team runners of all abilities to take part this year. To help prepare for the run, we have created two training plans; the beginner plan for people who are just starting out or returning to running after a long period off and the intermediate plan for people already capable of running 5km in 20-30 minutes.
Entry to the run costs just £18+VAT per person which includes a race t-shirt (kindly provided by Pencarrie) and a goody bag.
We have another great prize this year; every person that raises over £30 will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a night’s stay in a luxury beach hut in Shaldon as featured on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces!
