The Sarah West Recruitment team is busy supporting Sarah as she prepares for her epic cycling challenge in September when she takes on The Ride Across Britain.

Going from Land’s End to John O’Groats, there’s just the ‘small’ matter of 980 miles in 9 consecutive days. Simple, hey?

Sarah and her cycling buddy Sam are taking on this mission to raise money for two amazing local charities – Hospiscare and Farms for City Children. In the build up to the big event, they’re organising a number of fundraisers to make sure they’re able to hand over a fabulously healthy cheque towards the end of the year. You can find out more about the challenge and the training on their website.

In February the pair hosted a Spinathon at Exeter’s David Lloyd Club, where they were joined by 28 supporters for a four hour training session. And next up was the first Sarah West Recruitment pub quiz so that the team could show their support for Sarah and Sam’s tremendous efforts!

We were delighted to be joined by so many of our fantastic clients and other supporters for a quiz themed around Cornwall and Scotland…can you see what we did? (in case you can’t…this was in honour of the start and finish of The Ride Across Britain).

The evening was full of fun and laughter (phew…as this is exactly how we’d been ‘selling’ it) thanks to our wonderful ‘host with the most’ Drew Mason from Grow Exeter Magazine.

Sarah said “I can’t thank everyone enough for their support, it was a great evening and I really enjoyed the vibe in the room. I had so many positive comments from people there, with calls for us to do another one (we will!).

“I was also blown away by the generosity of other local organisations who donated items for our raffle. A big thank you to LWCTesco Exmouth, Green Valley CyderLyme Bay Winery and Hullabaloos! Another big thank you goes to The City Gate Hotel for having us and to Waggle Events for the PA System! I’m super proud to be part of such an amazing business community.”

The Sarah West team were made up that the event raised £430 for Sarah and Sam’s fundraising pot!

You can find out more about the challenge and keep up to date with the full-on (to say the least) training that’s more than well underway from the pair’s weekly blog. It’s an awesome read!

Next up there’s a big, black tie event at the end of April that’s sold out – it should be another cracking evening!
