InExeter has announced the appointment of a new business engagement project officer. Joining the team from 15 July 2019, Mattie Richardson is tasked with increasing links and services between businesses and InExeter, the city’s business improvement district (BID). Mrs. Richardson will undertake the role three days per week, carrying out business and stakeholder visits across the BID area and ensuring that businesses have full information about projects and services offered by InExeter.
Mrs. Richardson has a wealth of experience in retail, as owner of Bunyip Crafts, a Fore Street based store and craft space, which offers a comprehensive stock of fabric, haberdashery, ribbon, beads, buttons, jewellery making and knitting supplies. Mrs. Richardson’s experience also includes four years’ service on the InExeter board, which she steps down from in order to take on this new role. She is a founder of the hugely popular Fore Street Flea events and has played a major role in other retail and destination initiatives including Indie Exeter and the Exeter Street Slide.
Ann Hunter, InExeter manager, said: “I am delighted to welcome Mattie into the team. Her skills, knowledge and experience will benefit our levy payers and she will be a huge asset to the team as we head towards the BID ballot in autumn. This new role has evolved over time will now provide members with a dedicated resource to access InExeter services, support and advice.”

Mrs. Richardson’s business, Bunyip Craft, will continue to trade in its new location at 133 Fore Street.
InExeter will further extend its team next month with the appointment of Marina O’Shea, as event and project manager.
