InExeter has announced the appointment of a new events and projects manager, Marina O’Shea, to deliver an exciting programme of events for the city’s business improvement district.   Marina will be responsible for upcoming events including the Exeter Fashion and Beauty Week, taking place from 17-21 September as well as flagship events The Vintage Fashion Show and Slow Fashion.  Marina will oversee InExeter’s Five Nights of Lights – a new launch to the festive season involving local arts and with a community focus.  She will also look at establishing new markets and pop up events for the city, with a particular focus on Sidwell Street, Paris Street, and South Street.

Marina brings with her multi-disciplined industry experience and a field of contacts within the business, arts and culture sectors from across the UK.  In Exeter she has worked for organisations including the Music in Devon Initiative (MIDI), which produces the popular Exeter Street Arts Festival, as well as Phonic FM and Cygnet Theatre.  She has served as a steering group member for Exeter Culture Board and is a present member of the Exeter Sports Council.

Ann Hunter, InExeter manager, said: “We are really pleased to welcome Marina to the InExeter team.  Her considerable experience will be a huge asset to the team and our business members, as well as to the wider community through the new events and markets she will curate.”

Marina said: “I am passionate about our city and have a personal interest in culture and the arts and the ways in which these can benefit and enhance our lives.  My drive is to look towards drawing connection between business and the quality of life for people living and working in the city.”
