Exeter Chamber of Commerce & Industry has announced Matt Roach, managing director of Exeter Airport, as its new chair.  Mr Roach has been a director of Exeter Chamber since 2016 and took the helm at the organisation’s AGM on 11 November.

At the AGM, the Chamber officially welcomed new board members Amanda Grabham, Axminster Carpets; Paul Nero, Radio Exe; Helen Scholes, Co Cars; Tim Wadsworth, Space; Yvan Williams, The Oddfellows and Ann Hunter, manager of the city’s business improvement district, InExeter.

Mr Roach said: “It is a real honour to be taking up the position of chair and I look forward to ensuring that Exeter Chamber of Commerce & Industry continues to be the voice of business in Greater Exeter, lobbying on behalf of its members, championing our great city, and challenging where appropriate.

“I would like to thank Mark Pellow for his work over the last 12 years as a board member and the past few years as chair, as well as others who have generously given their time to support business in the city and beyond, including Derek Phillips, Andrew McNeilly, Graham Austin, Nick Baxter-Sibley and Chris Lorimer.”

Over the coming months the new Board will be working on defining the Chamber’s proprieties, including the launch of a sustainability initiative, which will see a programme of events, workshops and resources made available to business.
