By December 17, 2020January 26th, 2021Uncategorised, Why Exeter blog

Well, what a year 2020 has been!  While we know it's been tough we thought we'd reflect on our positives for the year here.  We'd love to hear yours too – tweet your stories, tag us in and we will share them.

  1. We’ve welcomed 33 new members since lockdown, and are really proud to support them and the 300+ people they employ.

  2. Together with Exeter City Council, we’ve launched Exeter Works to support individuals and businesses seeking employment information and support www.exeterworks.org – thanks to Toco Digital and Toco Creative for their great work on this.

  3. We produced two web series, The Friday Lockdown Show and Re-Focus – a total of 15 episodes, giving a platform to 182 speakers, and welcoming 3,097 viewers.  You can watch back all previous episodes on our YouTube channel here.  Thank you to Bitpod, Mr Matt Young and One Voice Media for producing this on our behalf.

  4. We reached 10,000 followers across our Twitter and LinkedIn accounts – and are pleased to share member news across these channels – tag us in for shares!

  5. We’ve shared 520 member news stories across the year, telling the community about your brilliant businesses.

  6. We are delighted to have been working with partners Alder & Alder on the Chamber’s new branding strategy – watch this space in the new year for more.

  7. We’ve run two local buying campaigns, Stronger Together and Support Local, showcasing 80 businesses and for the former campaign generating 1,300 video views.

  8. We are working hard to understand your views – since lockdown we’ve collated 1,151 survey responses, feeding the information through to local and central Government, campaigning in the media and making connections to support your business.

  9. We’ve ramped up our media activity – featuring on Spotlight, ITV Westcountry, Radio Devon, Radio Exe  and in Reach titles in just the last few weeks.

  10. And this month, we’ve launched a raffle in aid of Greater Exeter foodbanks. We’ve been gifted some fabulous prizes from a state of the art office chair, to some delicious foodie prizes and event a garden design consultation from our members, with all ticket proceeds going to the Trussell Trust to be shared around local foodbanks.  Buy your tickets here.
