Mental Health in Business, Wellbeing Workshops – Exeter Rotary

Businesses in Exeter are invited to take part in a new Mental Health in Business Program, which will involve Professional wellbeing trainers delivering workshops to help businesses become more confident in talking about mental health to their work colleagues, their friends, and their families.

One in four people in business have, or have had, a problem with their mental health. In 2019 Deloittes found that this cost business £45 billion. In these Covid times the problem is worse given the increase in anxiety levels, isolation, and depression etc.

Rotary has created three new courses, which have been running elsewhere in the South West and are now available in Exeter, to help business better understand the problem and to find solutions for the benefit of their staff and the business’.

The courses – all of which are run on Zoom – start with a “Taster” workshop, to help people understand the general problems that having mental health issues can cause.  (Approx. 1.5 hours)

The second course is:
An “Awareness” Course, one that helps employers and employees gain a deeper understanding of how poor mental health affects day to day lives and the costs of this to both the business & the individual. (Approx. 3 hrs)

After people have attended the “awareness” course, they will be invited to take advantage of a more practical course;
An “Implementation” Course, which is where our experienced trainers will help them to implement a wellbeing strategy to enable the creation of a positive workplace course which shows how to move forward to create a healthier happier workplace. (Approx. 3 hrs)

Following this course there is available a one-month period of consultancy support focused as needed.

These courses are free as they are funded by Rotary in South West Peninsula. They are run by “The Fox Project” and “Konnect”, professionals with much practical experience in this field.  To find out more details including course dates, ask questions and to book, go to https://mentalhealthinbusiness.org.uk

Courses will be available until December 2021 and will be delivered by Zoom until further notice.
