Second national award for charity communications solutions

Business communications provider swcomms won 2021 Best SME Vertical Market Customer Solution category at the Comms National Awards 2021.

The award was presented to swcomms’ managing director Brian Lodge by Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke and former The Apprentice candidate Vincent Disneur, of telecoms billing platform Union Street. The ceremony was hosted by Comms Dealermagazine at the Park Lane Hilton in London.

swcomms’ successful entry focused on the Microsoft Teams solution deployed to charities during the pandemic, including Age UK Exeter, Citizens Advice East Devon and West Devon Business Information Point.

These charities could not hold face-to-face meetings with their clients during the lockdowns of 2020. The Teams solution provided a flexible phone system and video meeting solution that could be used wherever the charities were working.

Mr Lodge said: “We delivered Teams to these charities’ volunteers and staff, and they absolutely loved it. We were able to deploy these solutions remotely to maintain social distancing measures, but made sure we looked after them so they were comfortable using the solution from the outset. It meant they could still see and speak to their clients at a time when they were needed most, but can continue to enjoy the flexibility and growth opportunities Teams provides in the long term.”

This is the second national industry award swcomms has won for its Microsoft Teams solution after winning the Comms Business SMB ICT Solution Award 2021 last month.
