Weekly chance to win £25,000 and support libraries

A chance to win £25,000 each week and support vital library services in Devon is on offer with the new Libraries Unlimited weekly charity lottery.

Tickets for the lottery cost just £1 per week. As well as the potential £25,000 top prize, there will be other chances to win shopping vouchers, food subscriptions and Christmas hampers.

The first draw takes place on Saturday 28th January.

Libraries Unlimited, the charity that runs the 54 libraries around Devon and Torbay,  will receive 50% of every ticket bought, with all proceeds going back into providing library services.

Rachel Payne, Business Development and Fundraising Manager, said: “Our libraries provide warm, safe spaces for everyone, and receive over 1.5 million visits a year. The cost-of-living crisis this winter has seen our buildings also offering community fridges, hygiene banks and warm winter clothes rails.”

“Playing the weekly lottery means people can support libraries, and indirectly help those most in need all over Devon and Torbay. We will receive 50% of every ticket bought, and we’re hoping the new lottery will create a sustainable source of income to support our work.”

Libraries Unlimited operates 54 public libraries across Devon and Torbay on behalf of the two councils, serving a population of around 1.1 million. The charity also runs four mobile libraries and provides a home delivery service to isolated and vulnerable customers. The new lottery will be run with the help of One Lottery.
