SPRING SPECIAL OF MUSIC, FUN AND A WARM WELCOME

Exeter Library opens after hours for Library Lates

Exeter Library will once again throw open its doors after closing time for another Library Lates evening of live music and fun this spring.

The latest date in the Library Lates calendar is Friday 31st March, when DJs, bands, a bar, workshops and behind-the-scenes tours will transform the book shelves.

Caleb Chester, Senior Supervisor of Development and Innovation at Exeter Library, said: “We’ve held three Library Lates, the first in February 2020 and then last July and November, and they’re going from strength to strength. They’re a chance to enjoy a warm welcoming space, get a one-off glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes, and share a drink and some live music with a welcoming community. Exeter Library’s spacious layout works brilliantly for these events, and they’re now a firm favourite on our calendar.”

Musical highlights of the evening will include:

Luna Gray

An alternative rock band from Exeter, Luna Gray draw from influences such as Tigers Jaw, The Menzingers, Fleetwood Mac, Wolf Alice and more. The band are currently taking their time crafting their first studio EP following the release of debut singles ‘Kitten’ and ‘Steady’. The four-piece have received radio play on BBC Introducing, and graced stages with the likes of Seasick Steve and Kula Shaker.

Nierra Creek

Nierra Creek are Somerset songwriter Ryan Deag and Swiss producer Sebastian Müller. The pair share a love for James Blake, Hip Hop, soundscapes and unexpected noise which is the backbone to their sound.  2022 saw Nierra Creek perform at Boardmasters Festival and Switzerland’s Out In The Green Garden Festival. Influenced by artists from Bon Iver to LOW, Jim-E Stack and Oneohtrix Point Never, Nierra Creek are forging their own unique sound.

Silent disco

The librarian DJs take to the stage again. Gracing the decks on the evening will be

DJ Bibliotek with 80s classics, DJ DISCO-FACE with high energy dance music, and

DJ Ting with a spangly Europop/Eurovision set.

Workshops during the evening will include:
