New regulatory partner joins Stephens Scown

Stephens Scown has today announced Steve Panton as the latest partner to join the Employee-owned and B CorpTM law firm.

With over 20 years’ experience in regulatory enforcement and compliance, Steve Panton’s practice encompasses all aspects of health and safety, environmental, food safety and consumer protection law. He advises clients in the private and public sector in connection with investigations and prosecutions by the Health and Safety Executive, Local Authorities, the Environment Agency and Competent Fire Authorities as well as on risk management and corporate governance. He also represents clients suspected of financial crime, including confiscation proceedings brought under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Steve’s practice also extends to advising on appeals against prohibition and improvement articles, defending statutory and private nuisance proceedings, civil sanctions and enforcement undertakings and in relation to Inquests and Public Inquiries.

Steve will be joining Stephens Scown’s highly regarded Commercial Dispute Resolution team, headed up by Stephen Wray, supporting clients across a variety of sectors, including food and drink, rural, healthcare, mining and minerals, retail and manufacturing.
