Free Business Resilience Event in Exeter will empower local businesses to THRIVE amid rising costs

Business owners across the region can get free support to boost their resilience and help with the recent rises in the cost of living.

Following a successful event held in Plymouth recently, the Heart of the South West Growth Hub are putting on a Business Resilience Event in Exeter to support businesses in the area.

This event will take place on Thursday 20th July at Exeter Science Park, 6 Babbage Way Clyst Honiton EX5 2FN and local businesses are invited to attend. Attendance is free but booking is essential as spaces are limited: https://thrive-business-resilience-event-exeter.eventbrite.co.uk

The event, which includes refreshments and networking, aims to bring together businesses from across Exeter, East Devon and the wider region and provide practical support and guidance in response to the recent rises in the cost of living.

This event will feature workshops from Business Information Point (BIP) with practical advice and information on business resilience, a Business Health Check, and successful grant funding application tips.

There will be an intro. from the Heart of the South West Growth Hub who will talk about the many funded services currently on offer, and the opportunity to network with other businesses.

Those who can’t attend can still access free support through the Heart of the South West Growth Hub’s Thrive project, which offers businesses 1-to-1 support. Thrive ends on 31st July 2023 so businesses are advised to act quickly to take advantage of this support: https://www.heartofswgrowthhub.co.uk/thrive/

Local business Devon Sea Salt received business development guidance as well as financial advice after contacting the Growth Hub, helping to get the business back on track after what had been a very turbulent time due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Chris Hambley, Owner of Devon Sea Salt said “The Growth Hub really enabled us to gain the expert knowledge we needed to move the business forward. The pandemic threw the whole year of planning off-track, and the growth hub was invaluable in enabling us to pave a new way forward for Devon Sea Salt.’

David, Hynd, Programme Manager for the Heart of the South West Growth Hub says

“Here at the Growth Hub we know how important it is for businesses to have the opportunity to access the free support that our events offer. The Growth Hub is the first point of contact for businesses in Devon, Somerset, Plymouth and Torbay seeking advice. We can offer guidance on how to access funding, business planning, 1-2-1 support and help with specific business challenges. I would urge ALL businesses to spend some time investigating the wealth of resources and help available, to support their growth and help build a successful future.”
