Event space launch will raise funds for charity

A free networking event to mark the opening of a new conference and meeting space at Exeter Science Park will raise funds for a charity which supports workers in the hospitality industry.

The launch event is planned to showcase the new Knightshayes event space in the Science Park Centre from 5pm on Thursday November 30.

And it will be raising money for the Burnt Chef Project which was established in 2019 with the intention of eradicating mental health stigma within hospitality.

Visitors are invited to drop in between 5pm and 8pm to see the new space and enjoy refreshments which have been supplied by Exeter Science Park’s on site chef Andre, Barnova and the Exploding Bakery. There will also be a talk about the Burnt Chef Project.

David Morgan, client services lead at Exeter Science Park, said: “We wanted to hold an event to show off the new space, and it felt like a good opportunity to raise funds for a good cause. I used to be a chef, so it is something which is close to my heart, and we know that so many areas of the hospitality industry are still facing challenges.

“We’re very grateful to Barnova and the Exploding Bakery who have both contributed to the refreshments and were keen to get on board and support the Burnt Chef Project.”

The new Knightshayes event space is a large light filled room which can accommodate up to 70 people.  It is fully AV equipped and suitable for group training, seminars, workshops and many other uses. When booked in conjunction with other conference space the Science Park can deliver events for around 200 people.
