Carrion Events is very excited to announce that Bafta winning writer and performer Reece Shearsmith will be joining their gothic horror weekend ‘Hell Tor’ at the Exeter Phoenix. The Inside No.9 star will join Hammer horror / Bond girls Caroline Munro and Madeline Smith at a weekend celebrating Hammer horror and the mythology of vampires. ‘I think anyone with an interest in horror will be delighted by the Hell Tor weekend,’ says Reece ‘It’s an opportunity to meet like minded horror fans – or Monster Kids – as we used to call them, and listen to some great insights from people that have been influential in shaping the genre and making significant contributions to it.’
The independent venture has attracted the interest of newly resurrected Hammer films and the support of ’The Cellar Club’ on Talking Pictures TV. “As a fledgling independent venture we are still looking for additional sponsorship to help support our project,’ says creative director Ashley Thorpe. ‘These events are costly. We have long term plans to stage many of these events in the future and bring some of the best guests from the creative industries to the region and celebrate our heritage of horror and the fantastic. We have great ambitions and want to establish the festival as something magical in the south west, but for us to do that we need local support. ‘
